WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS: Yankees Win 2009 World Series + Parade Info

New York Yankees beat the Philadelphia Phillies, 7-3, in Game 6 of the 2009 World Series in a historical win in so many ways. This Yankee win makes this the 27th world championship for the Bronx Bombers, a record that surpasses all other North American sports franchises. Bam! Bam!
Though its been 9 years since the last Yankee World Series win it will go down as undoubtedly one of the best. Also, this win is reminiscent of the 1923 win by Babe Ruth and his teammates in the original Yankee Stadium.
The parade:
The honorary ticker-tape parade and ceremony will take place in this Friday (Nov. 6) at 11 a.m.The parade will start on ‘Broadway at Battery Place and continue northbound up the Canyon of Heroes to City Hall Plaza where Mayor Michael Bloomberg will present the Bronx Bombers with the Keys to the City.’
Mary J. Blige Will Sing National Anthem at Game 6 Tonight

On twitter a few days ago (Oct. 31), Mary J. Blige tweeted: “If this [series] gets a real run, maybe [I] should do the National Anthem at like game six or seven. What you guys think?”
The MLB confirmed yesterday that tonight Mary will perform the national anthem at Yankee Stadium before tonight’s Game Six of the World Series.
Let’s hear it for New York!
