Why didn’t anyone tell me today was NEW MUSIC VIDEO DAY? In any event, today Alicia Keys premiered the video for “Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart” (Produced by Jeff Bhasker/ Directed by Syndrome). This is the second single off Alicia’s new album The Element of Freedom which hits stores December 15.

Alicia Keys NEW SINGLE “Sleeping With A Broken Heart”

After falling in love with Alicia Keys’ first single “Doesn’t Mean Anything“, I find myself in moderate like with her second single, “Sleeping With A Broken Heart.” (Produced By Jeff Bhasker) The songs title commanded my attention but the airy vocals didn’t quite capture my heart. I will give it another listen but I really expected the song to conjure up the emotion of John Mayer’s “Dreaming With A Broken Heart” now that ladies and gents is a song…but I digress. Hopefully, we get a few great ballads off the A. Keys’ forthcoming album, The Element of Freedom which hits stores Dec. 15.

The video opens up with Alicia overlooking NYC streets, the background you hear her uttering softly, “This beautiful city feels empty. All the people in the world and you can still feel lonely. What’s the point of having it all without the person you love.
Sometimes you just need to start again in order to fly.”

Alicia Keys appeared this morning on ABC’s “Live with Regis and Kelly.” Alicia performed her first single “Doesn’t Mean Anything,” off her fourth studio album “The Element of Freedom” due out December 1.
Alicia Keys will be hosting an event at the Hammerstein Ballroom this Thursday, October 15, and the video for “Doesn’t Mean Anything” premieres on Friday!
