The Mistress To Become The Wife: Swizz Beatz & Alicia Keys Engaged

The mistress is set to become the wife (Mr. Miyagi voice). Us Magazine is reporting that Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz got engaged over the weekend and that the 7-carat engagement ring was a present for her 29th birthday (Jan. 25) from Swizzy. ALthough Alicia’s reps are denying the rumor, US Magazine says her ‘friends’ are saying Alicia & Swizz “are currently in Hawaii celebrating the engagement and her birthday. She feels blessed…She is thrilled. She is with the man who has inspired so much of her music and her new album [The Element of Freedom].”
New Year’s Eve will be “On To The Next One”

To bid 2009 adieu folks will be engaging in the normal champagne toasts but this year they will have Jay-Z/Swizz Beatz slogan “On To The Next One” fresh on their minds, especially if they are tuning in to NBC’s New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly. Jay-Z’s new video “On To The Next One” featuring Swizz Beatz will premiere on the special on Thursday, December 31. I had no intentions of watching the special which is also airing pre-taped performances by Rihanna, but now that Jay-Z has entered the mix I may have to switch around some plans. The broadcast airs from 10-11 PM (EST), and will continue at 11:30 PM (EST) ON NBC.
Alicia Keys NYC Album Release Party with Swizz Beatz (VIDEO)

Last week, Alicia Keys made an appearance at M2 Lounge in NYC for her album release party. Alicia arrived with boyfriend Swizz Beatz. Independent of the drama the couple had a good time together two-stepping and whopping together, the footage shows the love. It is what is I guess…still love me some Alicia.

How befitting that this song leaks this weekend–a few days before Alicia Keys‘ album The Element of Freedom hits stores & a few days after the twitter rantings of her beau, Swizz Beatz and estranged wife, Mashonda…. I can’t. I cannot. I refuse to comment further.

Let me start by saying this twitter is not your friend. For anyone ever feeling a certain type a way, typing out your frustrations or thoughts on twitter is never the way to go. Now on to the story:
After being spotted in Paris together I’m sure that word has gotten back to Swizz Beatz, Alicia Keys and Mashonda that the triad is closer to becoming a duo consisting of just Alicia and Swizz. On Friday night, Swizz Beatz took to twitter to voice his frustrations about people claiming that he cheated, saying:

After seeing his tweets, Swizz Beatz’s soon-to-be ex-wife, Mashonda, replied:

WOW!! I can’t. I cannot. I refuse to believe that either Mashonda or Swizz thought this was a constructive way to address the situation. I’m not sure what his intentions were but it was a bad move. Mashonda well, I expected her to respond considering her past twitter rants but Swizz went in this time. In any event, this drama is one that they should’ve kept off twitter–but who am I to judge.
Soon after his posts, Swizz deleted the status updates mentioned above but I was able to get the screenshots of both his and Mashonda’s updates were still available check below. What do you think about these twitter rants?

The YBF has snagged up some pictures of Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz (camera-phone quality) and they are kissing it up in a “I love you so much, baby” way. Damn, I wanted to believe this foolery wasn’t so or that they were not messing around while he was still fully with his wife Mashonda….but the pictures (taken circa de 2008) don’t lie.

The words in this case were exchanged via twitter but never the less Mashonda is airing out all the dirty laundry in hopes of getting a response back. The gag is that she says that she may repost daily ’til she gets some clarity–the Girls Scout Badge of Persistence goes to you girl!
