Beyonce performed an interesting rendition of “If I Were A Boy” and incorporated a cover of Alanis Morissette’s “You Ought To Know,” to add an element of spice and life. Beyonce definitely channelled her idol Tina Turner and gave a good performance (although it must be said I am rarely disappointed, call me a STAN and I don’t care!)

The mistress is set to become the wife (Mr. Miyagi voice). Us Magazine is reporting that Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz got engaged over the weekend and that the 7-carat engagement ring was a present for her 29th birthday (Jan. 25) from Swizzy. ALthough Alicia’s reps are denying the rumor, US Magazine says her ‘friends’ are saying Alicia & Swizz “are currently in Hawaii celebrating the engagement and her birthday. She feels blessed…She is thrilled. She is with the man who has inspired so much of her music and her new album [The Element of Freedom].”
Kanye & Amber Are PETA’s “Ugliest Things”

Kelis at Sundance Film Festival, Kanye & Amber at Paris Fashion Week, all of the above are getting their “glorious” fur on, and PETA ain’t happy! Since PETA and Kelis had their tug of war recently, now it’s KAmber’s turn to get the red-blood treatment. (I told you PETA was coming for Kanye& Amber!) On Chris Brown
Though she has stated that February 8 was the first time that Brown—with whom she became best friends early in her career, before things turned romantic about two years ago—beat her, she says that in retrospect, there were warning signs. “There were control issues, insecurity,” she says. “When people are insecure they become very controlling and they can get very aggressive and in turn abusive. It doesn’t have to be physical. Like they would say bad stuff to you to make you feel lesser than them just so they would have control in the relationship. It takes a big toll on your emotions and on your everyday life. It changes you.”
On Her Favorite Part of the Day
She is full of sass and teasing sarcasm; most sentences end with a playful chuckle. She loves to blast music by rock ’n’ roll band Kings of Leon and play with her toy poodle, Oliver, who, she explains, is under the impression that he’s a big dog who can protect her from intruders at the Los Angeles house she shares with her closest friend from Barbados. The best part of her day, she says, is “when I’m with my glam team getting my hair and makeup done—we talk so much s—!”
On Writing + Recording ‘Rated R’
The record is a dissertation on her relationship with Brown and its bloody demise, and it has surprised reviewers who had written her off as a talented but manufactured pop sensation. “This was a different type of record for me,” she says in her steady island lilt, sitting in a backstage dressing room after taping a BET show. “It was really personal; it was from me in the most authentic way. It’s like a movie”—hence the title—“in that when I was making this album, every day I was in a different mood. Sometimes I was pissed off, sometimes I was miserable, and every song brings out a different story.” For the first time, she was intimately involved with the lyrics, writing many of them herself and spending time with her collaborators (who included Jeezy, Justin Timberlake and Ne-Yo) explaining her emotions and working on translating them. “It’s still hard to listen to certain songs,” she admits. “Certain ones I couldn’t even record—I’d keep pushing them back [on the schedule].”

Let me start by saying this twitter is not your friend. For anyone ever feeling a certain type a way, typing out your frustrations or thoughts on twitter is never the way to go. Now on to the story:
After being spotted in Paris together I’m sure that word has gotten back to Swizz Beatz, Alicia Keys and Mashonda that the triad is closer to becoming a duo consisting of just Alicia and Swizz. On Friday night, Swizz Beatz took to twitter to voice his frustrations about people claiming that he cheated, saying:

After seeing his tweets, Swizz Beatz’s soon-to-be ex-wife, Mashonda, replied:

WOW!! I can’t. I cannot. I refuse to believe that either Mashonda or Swizz thought this was a constructive way to address the situation. I’m not sure what his intentions were but it was a bad move. Mashonda well, I expected her to respond considering her past twitter rants but Swizz went in this time. In any event, this drama is one that they should’ve kept off twitter–but who am I to judge.
Soon after his posts, Swizz deleted the status updates mentioned above but I was able to get the screenshots of both his and Mashonda’s updates were still available check below. What do you think about these twitter rants?
