You T-PAIN-ing too Much!
Sep 8th
Well, as it has it T-Pain finally figured out the directly directed message that the song D.O.A. had in terms of his musical style and preference.
According to MTV.com,
Over the weekend in Las Vegas, T-Pain’s praise for Hov apparently turned into scorn. There’s footage on the Internet where Pain takes aim at Hov during a DJ set.
“Jay-Z is 59 years old. I don’t think he has the right to say what’s good and what’s not,” Pain said at the club Rehab while on the mic. “I think if anything is dead, it should be him. … To any Jay-Z fans out in the crowd, excuse the f— outta me. But you don’t see me saying ‘rap is dead,’ even though it is. ‘Cause apparently all the rappers are trying to do T-Pain.”
Pain then started singing, “All rappers out there are using Auto-Tune …”
During an interview on New York’s Power 105.1 on Tuesday morning (September 8), Jay was asked about Pain’s comments.
“You have to ask him. I have no idea,” Jay explained to Ed Lover and Free about Pain’s comments. “I said he brought it back, at the time, which was cool at the time. I didn’t have a problem with it. I didn’t have a problem with a couple of people doing it, but when a whole genre of music is doing it, then it’s getting lame and it’s not cool to me. … I made it very clear I wasn’t talking about him. … ‘D.O.A.’ was just for the conversation whether you was for it or against it. Obviously some people felt that way. … You have to have two sides to have an argument.”
As for the recent comments about Jay’s age, he said, “Well, everybody has a birthday. I just don’t think they have much else to say. They can’t attack my credentials as an artist or my lyrics as an MC. You can’t really attack my lifestyle. What are you going to say about me?”
Jay was also a guest on New York’s Hot 97 on Tuesday morning, and when asked about Pain’s comments Jay shrugged it off, saying, “I hope he had a good time. I just hope he had a great time.”
In June, Pain had nothing but praise for the Jiggaman. He tweeted: ” ‘D.O.A.’ is the best song I’ve heard in a couple years.” Pain also told MTV News, “He only makes it better for me [by releasing 'D.O.A.']“
