We Are The World…25 Years Later

25 years after the original recording, a cluster of stars came together to remake the classic “We Are the World.”
The new version is entitled, “We Are the World – 25 for Haiti,” will benefit earthquake relief efforts in Haiti.

Janet Jackson & Jermaine Dupri have that on again off again love thing happening. The two split this past summer, around the time of Michael’s death, and now according to Bossip, they are back together and ready to make it official.
Sphere: Related ContentAccording to a source close to the couple, Janet Jackson is now planning their wedding. The longtime friends says the two never fell out of love even after calling it quits last summer. Now that they are back together, they are hoping to get married
early next year. Apparently, they are rushing their plans to help bring the Jackson family some positivity and joy after Michael’s death. Our source says Janet hopes the wedding will give the family something to smile about.
I Cannot of the Week: Australian “Jackson Jive” BLACKFACE Performance Video

In the midst of redesigning the site, I have had some technical difficulties with posts and missed out on some I CANNOT worthy posts.
The Jackson Jive performed by a group of four men adorned in afro wigs, jumpsuits, and in blackface. Yes, blackface. The antics took place on an Australian variety show “Hey, Hey It’s Saturday”, where Harry Connick Jr. was serving as a guest judge.
Ironically the group first appeared on the show twenty years ago doing a similar rendition of their Jackson 5 parody. It wasn’t funny either time. Very sorry to hear that in twenty years they have not acquired any knowledge on the offensive nature of blackface skit.
Harry Connick Jr. gave the group a ZERO for their performance and told them that it was unacceptable and if they were in the United States the show would likely have been pulled off the air. Harry received an apology from the shows host and will continue to guest judge on the program. Hmm.

After his funeral and burial weeks ago, “Michael Jackson” faded as a trending topic for a while. But, now that Kanye West has had another outburst and Patrick Swayze’s death folks in the twitter universe have found a way to combine the two events and make both celebs trending topics.
There are two versions of the Twitter Patrick Swayze X MJ X Kanye trend:
Kanye West just interrupted Patrick Swayze’s death to say that Michael Jackson’s death was much better.
AND
“Yo Patrick Swayze I know you just died and all, Imma let u finish, but Michael Jackson’s death was the best one this year”

Well, there you have it folks Michael Jackson’s death has officially been ruled a homicide and according to the Los Angeles County Coroners Office his death was the result of “acute propofol intoxication.”
According to a statement from the coroner: The “manner of death has been ruled homicide. Cause of death was established as acute propofol intoxication. Other conditions contributing to death: benzodiazepine. The drugs propofol and Lorazepam were found to be the primary drugs responsible for Mr. Jackson’s death. Other drugs detected were midazolam, diazepam, lidocaine, and ephedrine. The final coroner’s report includes a complete toxicology report will that remain on security hold at the request of the Los Angeles police department and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office”
Although authorities have sought after records from at least 5 doctors who treated Jackson in the past, and Las Vegas & Beverly Hills pharmacies, Murray is the only one singled-out in court documents as the target of the manslaughter investigation.

News arrived today that August 29th will makr not only would have been Michael Jackson’s 51st birthday but will also be the day family members lay the king of pop to rest. On the same day Spike Lee has also planned a Block Party in Fort Greene Park, Brooklyn.
The celebration is sure to be one to remember!
