Jay-Z Performs “Empire State of Mind” at Yankee Parade

On the steps of city hall, New York born and bred, Jay-Z performed “Empire State of Mind” with the help of Bridget Kelly at the Yankees World Series victory parade in NYC on Friday. Mayor Bloomberg introduced them check out the video:

New York Yankees beat the Philadelphia Phillies, 7-3, in Game 6 of the 2009 World Series in a historical win in so many ways. This Yankee win makes this the 27th world championship for the Bronx Bombers, a record that surpasses all other North American sports franchises. Bam! Bam!
Though its been 9 years since the last Yankee World Series win it will go down as undoubtedly one of the best. Also, this win is reminiscent of the 1923 win by Babe Ruth and his teammates in the original Yankee Stadium.
The parade:
The honorary ticker-tape parade and ceremony will take place in this Friday (Nov. 6) at 11 a.m.The parade will start on ‘Broadway at Battery Place and continue northbound up the Canyon of Heroes to City Hall Plaza where Mayor Michael Bloomberg will present the Bronx Bombers with the Keys to the City.’
Who Says Money Can’t Buy Votes: Mike Bloomberg Wins Third Term as NYC Mayor

Here’s the short story:
Mike Bloomberg served two terms and then persuaded the NY City Council to bend the rules that previously restricted mayoral term limits to two terms in office.
Once he received what he deemed a go ahead he used his financial POWER to ridiculously outspend his opponent, Comptroller William C. Thompson Jr.. Bloomberg spent over $90 million of his own money on his campaign efforts to Thompson’s $6 million.
The New York Times, called the race in favor of Bloomberg, “With 17 percent of precincts reporting, Mr. Bloomberg was leading Mr. Thompson, 49.2 percent to 47.7 percent.”
