Feb 9th

Sphere: Related ContentLil Wayne’s sentencing has been delayed until March 2 due to dental surgery, his attorney announced in a Manhattan courtroom Tuesday (February 9).
The rapper was scheduled to be formally sentenced by a judge and begin serving his one-year term stemming from a 2007 arrest that resulted in a guilty plea in October for attempted weapons possession.
The Cash Money MC arrived shortly after 2 p.m. with his label heads Birdman and Slim. He quietly entered the courtroom as photographers snapped pictures from the hallway. Wayne wore a navy coat and black-framed glasses, and he sat still while his lawyer Stacey Richman spoke.
She informed the judge that she sent a notification to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office that the rapper is suffering from a cracked tooth and would need to postpone his sentence. The judge agreed and ruled to reschedule for March 2.
The rapper is set to undergo surgery February 12 in Miami, according to Richman. He will need a week to 10 days to recover. His defense offered prosecutors February 25 as a date for Wayne to turn himself him in after surgery, but Judge Charles H. Solomon instead selected March 2.
The judge then warned Wayne that he must return to Miami on Tuesday. Solomon insisted if he leaves tomorrow, there would be a chance his surgery would be delayed due to hazardous weather conditions leaving New York.
“I don’t want this to get pushed back anymore,” Solomon said. “This is the last adjournment.”
Uncle Sam Ain’t Nothing to F’ Wit, Method Man!
Oct 6th
Dear Clifford Smith (Known to most as Method Man),
If you don’t pay your taxes…you will GO TO JAIL, GO DIRECTLY TO JAIL! You will not pass Staten Island and you will not get much sympathy.
XoXo,
ICANNOT.
Method Man must’ve spent too much burning down the marijuana to remember to file his New York State income tax forms, and now owes the Uncle Sam $33,000 for the three years he did not file.
The Wu-Tang Clan-ner faces a four years in jail if convicted on the felony charge of repeated failure to file taxes and misdemeanor charge of failure to pay tax.
UNCLE SAM Ain’t Nothing to F’ Wit, someone should’ve told Meth Man!
I can’t.
I cannot.
I refuse.

Vick-tory for Vick?
Aug 15th
So there has been an abundance of chatter behind Michael Vick and the very poor, just plain stupid, unbelievable decision he made to dogfight in his home.

However, what I seem to be missing and not understanding is why he still is being punished??? I’m sorry didn’t Vick already 19 months? Didn’t he just get out of prison in May for his crime? Didn’t he publicly apologize for the decision he made, even after he served his time? What else does he need to do??? Why shouldn’t he be signed? Is he not a professional football player? Did his endeavors cause him not to be an excellent player? So because he fought dogs he should never work again? I mean surely the flack he’s getting has to come to an end.
There has been more criticism for Michael Vick then there has been for people whom have done far worse. Since when did animals trump importance over people? Now don’t get me wrong. I love animals really do, grew up with rottweilers my entire life, but animals are not people. This does not mean that he is allowed to treat another living creature the way he did but this does his crime needs to be put into perspective and evaluated on the severity of the crime.
It seems as though the implications and the reactions are far deeper than the action. This is more than just dog fighting. This has to do with an institutional inequity of a Black man and folks in power flexing it. Vick forgot he was not on the same playing field as his counter parts in the NFL and thought that since he was making money any consequence to his actions would not be severe. I bet you Vick remembers now. Kanye West stated it best in his song “All Falls Down”:
“We shine because they hate us, floss cause they degrade us
We trying to buy back our 40 acres
And for that paper, look how low we a’stoop
Even if you in a Benz, you still a ni**a in a coupe”
Donte Sallworth was convicted of manslaughter and a DUI, and served 23 DAYS for killing a person. I’ll repeat that again…TWENTY-THREE DAYS for a person, and yet energy is even wasted on talking about a dogfighter while a murderer is trying to be acquitted for what he did and suspended from the league for just one year? WHAT?
At least Vick pleaded guilty! Yet harsh judgments are passed on Vick because he fought some damn dogs? Are we honestly serious?

I can’t.
I cannot.
I refuse
