In Pictures: Rihanna’s W Magazine Photo Spread

Rihanna-W-MagazineRihanna is featured in the February 2010 issue of W Magazine here is the Quick & Dirty-Fast Facts from the interview:

On Chris Brown

Though she has stated that February 8 was the first time that Brown—with whom she became best friends early in her career, before things turned romantic about two years ago—beat her, she says that in retrospect, there were warning signs. “There were control issues, insecurity,” she says. “When people are insecure they become very controlling and they can get very aggressive and in turn abusive. It doesn’t have to be physical. Like they would say bad stuff to you to make you feel lesser than them just so they would have control in the relationship. It takes a big toll on your emotions and on your everyday life. It changes you.”

On Her Favorite Part of the Day

She is full of sass and teasing sarcasm; most sentences end with a playful chuckle. She loves to blast music by rock ’n’ roll band Kings of Leon and play with her toy poodle, Oliver, who, she explains, is under the impression that he’s a big dog who can protect her from intruders at the Los Angeles house she shares with her closest friend from Barbados. The best part of her day, she says, is “when I’m with my glam team getting my hair and makeup done—we talk so much s—!”

On Writing + Recording ‘Rated R’

The record is a dissertation on her relationship with Brown and its bloody demise, and it has surprised reviewers who had written her off as a talented but manufactured pop sensation. “This was a different type of record for me,” she says in her steady island lilt, sitting in a backstage dressing room after taping a BET show. “It was really personal; it was from me in the most authentic way. It’s like a movie”—hence the title—“in that when I was making this album, every day I was in a different mood. Sometimes I was pissed off, sometimes I was miserable, and every song brings out a different story.” For the first time, she was intimately involved with the lyrics, writing many of them herself and spending time with her collaborators (who included Jeezy, Justin Timberlake and Ne-Yo) explaining her emotions and working on translating them. “It’s still hard to listen to certain songs,” she admits. “Certain ones I couldn’t even record—I’d keep pushing them back [on the schedule].”

Rihanna’s Tattoo: ‘Never a failure, Always a lesson’ (Photos)

So Rihanna got yet another tatt by Keith “Bang Bang” McCurdy, this one a little more meaningful than the last one (the gun on her right rib). She visited East Side Ink in NYC early Tuesday and got the words ‘Never a failure, always a lesson,’  inscribed on her but written backwards so that she could read it in the mirror.

Rihanna 20/20 Interview (Full Video)

After many teasers and interview excerpts tonight, Rihanna’s high anticipated exclusive interview with Diane Sawyer aired on ABC’s 20/20. The interview was a detailed account of what happened between Rihanna and ex-boyfriend Chris Brown on the night of Feb 8, 2009 that left her so battered and bruised. In the interview she reveals that her mother was physically abused by her father, she discussed what went through her mind during the attack, and described her life afterwards.

When she describe the details of that night she confirmed the “text message” rumors, and said: “I caught him in a lie. And he wouldn’t tell the truth … I was being more annoyed at that point in our relationship he had to lie about something so stupid. I couldn’t take that he kept lying to me. And he couldn’t take that I wouldn’t drop it. And … it was ugly.”Following the verbal argument over a text message that when Rihanna says Chris got physical and while he attacked her she said, “He had no soul in his eyes… It was almost like he had nothing to lose.”

Chris Brown: The Interview with MTV NEWS Video + His Response to Rihanna’s 20/20 Interview

Chris Brown The Interview

Each year over one million young women are victims of domestic violence. Chris Brown sat down with Sway and MTV News on Monday in an interview to discuss how Chris has changed since the February incident with Rihanna. Another attempt from CB’s camp to do damage control to counter act Rihanna’s side of the story which aired tonight on 20/20.

Part 1:

Part 2:

Part 3:

Chris refused to give his account of the incident with Rihanna and released this statement in response to the previews of her 20/20 interview:

While I respect Rihanna’s right to discuss the specific events of Feb. 8th I maintain my position that all of the details should remain a private matter between us. I do appreciate her support and wish her the best. I am extremely sorry for what I did and I accept accountability for my actions. At this point I am taking the proper steps to learn about me and grow from my mistakes. I only hope that others in similar situations can learn from our experience as well. Abuse of any kind is always wrong. The rest I leave it to God.

Chris Brown To Speak, Again: “Chris Brown: The Interview” on MTV

Chris Brown The Interview MTV

I’m not sure what to think of Chris Brown’s a.k.a. Crazy Eyes latest move. Is it Utterly Frustrating or Strangely Ironic that on the same night of Rihanna’s 20/20 interview Chris Brown has scheduled yet another interview (He has previously talked to Larry King, Angie Martinez) with MTV? The latest interview is set to air tomorrow night at 6pm on MTV, conveniently 4 hours before Rihanna’s airs at 10p.m. on ABC.

Seriously? The way I see it Chris had his turn to speak and now with all the media attention given to Rihanna’s revealing and exclusive interview now he wants yet ANOTHER chance to speak about “that night”. In the illustrious words of–well, myself–I can’t. I cannot. I refuse to believe this was a sincere effort at letting fans know what happen and about CB’s progress since the incident. Rather, his people that are #failures at strengthening his tattered image and are using this MTV interview as an opportunity to get his word out before hers.

I can’t.

I cannot.

I refuse.
