WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS: Yankees Win 2009 World Series + Parade Info

New York Yankees beat the Philadelphia Phillies, 7-3, in Game 6 of the 2009 World Series in a historical win in so many ways. This Yankee win makes this the 27th world championship for the Bronx Bombers, a record that surpasses all other North American sports franchises. Bam! Bam!
Though its been 9 years since the last Yankee World Series win it will go down as undoubtedly one of the best. Also, this win is reminiscent of the 1923 win by Babe Ruth and his teammates in the original Yankee Stadium.
The parade:
The honorary ticker-tape parade and ceremony will take place in this Friday (Nov. 6) at 11 a.m.The parade will start on ‘Broadway at Battery Place and continue northbound up the Canyon of Heroes to City Hall Plaza where Mayor Michael Bloomberg will present the Bronx Bombers with the Keys to the City.’

All I can say is YESSSSSS! The world has been waiting, okay maybe not the world but New York has been waiting for Jay-Z and Alicia Keys to have an uninterrupted performance (minus Lil Mama) of “Empire State of Mind.” The New Yorker natives were originally scheduled to perform last night but were pushed back today due to the stormy weather. Today, at Yankee Stadium and in the HOME of Hip Hop–Bronx,NY Jay & A.Keys did had their time to do what they do best (minus the microphone feedback echo).

Jay-Z X Alicia Keys World Series Performance Moved To Thursday

So in case you didn’t catch the news…Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ performance has been rescheduled due to shady weather conditions. The two will perform “Empire State of Mind” on Thursday during the pre-game ceremonies.
Catch it all on FOX starting at 7:30 p.m. Eastern.
The scoop is: The performance was changed due to the forecast for inclement weather for Wednesday, October 28. Staging for the performance could adversely impact the field if it is wet, creating damaged and unsafe playing conditions.
I still want to know when the video is coming out….Sheesh!

Jay-Z and Alicia Keys will be performing the concrete jungle anthem “Empire State of Mind” on Wednesday at Game 1 of the World Series. A. Keys & Hov will perform at the new Yankee Stadium before the first pitch.
"I make the Yankee fitted more famous than the Yankees can."
While making an appearance earlier, Jay-Z talked about the impending performance: “First of all, the new Stadium — it’s the Yankees and it’s game one of the World Series..I’m beyond excited about it, and on top of that, it’s a New York record. It’s a record that pays homage to New York. The timing of that couldn’t be better.”
